Top 4 Negative Thoughts That Wreak Havoc On Your Path To Success
As a hypnotherapist, I have been working with clients for many years on clearing out and releasing the limiting beliefs that hold them back. In that time, I have noticed the same limiting beliefs showing up over and over again.
Limiting beliefs are a big problem since it’s estimated that about 98% of what we do is based on habits.
Our habits come from our inner core beliefs so healing these beliefs actually changes your habits!
The most common limiting beliefs are:
-I am not good enough: This one often keeps very talented people from putting themselves out there and sharing their gifts.
-I am not worthy: This one I suspect a lot of people bring in from other lifetimes but regardless of how it got here, I am not worthy, or its cousin I do not deserve, is a belief that frequently causes people to sabotage their own success and push away the people they love.
–I am not lovable: This is a quiet internal belief that makes people feel as though they are separate from their higher power (whatever that means for you) and the source of all love. This one causes depression, drug usage, other unhealthy behaviors and in extreme cases, suicide.
–I will never have __, never be __, or __ will never work out for me: Fill in the blanks with success, a best-selling book, a big house, my own business. Whatever it is you want. These beliefs almost always come from the parents, said in a moment of anger. As adults, our ego uses these beliefs to “soften the blow” when something you really wanted doesn’t work out. The ego gets to say, “See, I told you!!”
Ok, so what do I do about them?
As always it starts with awareness. Sometimes it’s easier to notice the effects, the things in your life that just aren’t going your way.
Then seek help.
Hypnotherapy, self-hypnosis, and past-life regression therapy are all great tools to help you tap into the unconscious mind to help replace those limiting beliefs with healthier ones. I see a hypnotherapist myself for my own issues.
Also, more traditional approaches like regular therapy, journaling, and meditation can really help you connect with those inner limitations so you can create new beliefs that allow you to have all the good things you really want.
Yes, it’s work but it’s some of the most important work you will ever do. Love yourself enough to make that change.
Much love.
