Identity Crisis on my birthday
This is my birthday month and it’s a big one. Vanity prevents me from saying which one, but I will say, it’s not 20.
In my significant time on earth and my almost 20 years as a hypnotherapist and intuitive reader I feel like I have learned a few things, indulge while I share a bit of what I have learned today.
–Do the math before you decide on changing your hair color, especially if go blond. If you invested that money in T-Bills..or basically anything else, you would have been rich..but not blond, that’s true but rich, yes.
–They only make one really comfortable pair of jeans: In life no matter how many pairs of jeans or shorts you own you will only have one really good pair at a time…that’s an unwritten life rule.
–Most people don’t want your advice unless they ask for it. If your advice tends to be really good, people will pay you for it. Ask me how I know this.
-You won’t be happy making other people rich. If you find yourself doing something you love figure out how to turn it into your own business as soon as possible. Making money for yourself is so much more fun than helping your boss get her new Porsche. It was a purple Porsche by the way, he parked it next to my POS model ancient civic.
–Most things you buy end up being a bit like a really good candy bar: they make you happy for about 10 minutes then you forget all about it until the visa bill shows up. Unless of course you bought a mid-life crisis red GTI, in that case you will love it until you get to 50,000 miles when it needs a $2,000 service that none of the 5 Mazda’s you owned before never needed. Totally random example of course.
–Family is complicated: For most people once you get past the age of 25 the relationships with your spiritual family are far more valuable. At some point FOO (Family of origin) is often more trouble than your friends.
–Use your Intuition: Your own inner voice and opinion on issues is so much more important than anyone else’s opinion on life. The world will try and say otherwise, don’t listen, it’s a lie.
–And lastly, Sunscreen..lots of sunscreen. You’ve heard that advice before but it’s worth repeating.
I am so grateful to you for the support and patronage all these many (but not too many) years and I look forward to continuing to do this work. I now get to live in a forest full of nature and I am able to connect with animals and trees and even baby deer every day and for that I am very grateful. It has been my great honor to be able to work with so many of you over the years. Thank you so much for all the support. Many more years to come..
Many virtual hugs and have a wonderful summer.
