As things start to open and we are able to get out and about, we go from survival mode and into human being mode which makes it time for a good cry.
We all need a hard cry about the things we didn’t let ourselves get upset about when we were trying to figure out where to get toilet paper or frozen food.
Its time to double over in grief over what you lost that.
-The Family vacation to Hawaii you saved all year for that had to be cancelled.
-The High School Prom and or Graduation you or your child was denied.
-That Job you lost or just didn’t get because of what has/is happening.
-Disneyland…
-The house hunting trip you had planned to Washington that’s gone-oh, wait that’s mine-time to cry!!
-The business you lost some of which is not ever coming back…mine too I am afraid.
And worst of all, the loss of a beloved friend or family member that you weren’t able to grieve because it all just seemed like too much at the time.
The great, small, trivial, ridiculous and very first world problems, you need to cry about all of it NOW.
Why?
Because if you don’t that unfelt grief and un-gushed tears will become anxiety, anger and lashing out. I bet some of you have already been doing that-You know who you are, its normal natural and to be expected.
For the sake of yourself and humanity its time to have a good long cry and you need to make this happen no matter what.
How?
Thank about all you have lost and let it out. And if for some reason you can’t do it try these:
-Watch “The notebook”
-Listen to the song “say something” by A great big world
-Read what they did to poor Peeta in the hunger games (I can’t believe that’s a book for teens)
-Read “Where the red fern grows” (I can’t believe that’s a kid’s book!)
-Watch Trinity Die in the 3rd Matrix
Pitfall
Don’t fall into the trap of thinking “other people have it so much worse; my problems are nothing in comparison” Yes, that’s true someone ALWAYS has it worse and they need a good cry too.
You need this so you must make this happen and afterward you will feel better, I promise. Plus, you will probably stop stuffing down those feelings with food. I know you have been doing that because I have gotten at least one call a day about it since this started.
Know that you are loved,
