What is the Real number one killer in America
Ok so before I give my answer I am legally required to say I am not a doctor, and this shouldn’t be considered medical advice. Having said that, hear me out on this one.

I believe the number one killer in America is fear of doctors, medical tests and medical stuff in general. For simplicity’s sake we’ll just call that white coat syndrome even thought that typically refers to getting high blood pressure readings at the doctor’s office but normal at home.
Jill, so how does a fear of doctors kill anyone?
Thank you for asking, let me tell you. When you know you have a medical issue and fear keeps you from getting that blood draw, going in for your mammogram, prostate exam or colonoscopy you greatly increase your chances of something nasty getting discovered when the fixing it will be much harder if not impossible.
Personally, I lost a family friend who would have been my father-in-law if he had lived a few more years. He died of a a cancer nobody dies from in the early stages but if not discovered until the late stages there is not much that can be done. He once confided in me that he discovered a lump in one of his lymph nodes 5 years before the diagnosed and was too afraid to go to the doctor to have it looked at. The result was an ugly death, way too young.
Now I don’t presume to tell you what to do with your body, that’s not my place, and you won’t get very far with me by trying to tell me what to do with mine. But, I will say if you are holding off on tests that you want and know you need because of the fear of needles, doctors and all that goes with it, I will tell you hypnotherapy is a quick way to release that fear. Usually just one session.
Part of adulting is doing things that are good for you that you really don’t want to do. Like eating healthier, exercising, getting regular healthcare from some kind of practitioner, quitting things that are not life enhancing like smoking and sugar..seriously Sugar is what I think is the #2 killer..but again not a doctor.
But Jill I eat healthy and do all the good stuff
Good for you! I am so impressed and please keep that up but even people like that sometimes get sick. Recently one of the most healthy and active athletes I have ever worked with got diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer from a routine exam…so yes, that can happen to anyone.
Love yourself to take good care of that body of yours even when that means paying someone to look under the hood a bit.
And remember, you are important, you are loved valued and cared about.
Namaste.
