Goals that make you happy
New year’s resolutions one of my favorite things to talk about. By far the number one resolution people make is to lose weight. A lofty goal that almost no one achieves and one that even when achieved does not make people happy.
This year I would encourage you to instead look at goals/resolutions that will make you happy, both in the process of achieving them and in achieving them.
Instead of losing weight make it a goal to:
-Say or do one kind thing per day to a stranger.
-Add two more exercise sessions to your week. I realize for most of you that will make the total number exercise sessions to two but be ambitions, try something new and fun like biking. Exercise has been clinically shown to increase your happy hormone levels so it will literally bring you joy.
-Start a side Hussle doing something you love.
-Sign up for a class or training program that is going to make your life better.
-Spend 5 minutes a day saying nice things to yourself.
-Put away an amount of money every month into your “Play fund” and plan something fun to do with it.
-Make it a goal to be kinder and more loving to yourself as well the others in your world.
Forget the weight, take it from me, someone who lost 60 pounds 15 years ago and kept it off,
Losing weight will not make you happy but doing things that make you happy will cause you to lose weight.
That is a goal well worth having.
Much love and happy new year.
